Welcome back, we hope you all had a restful Christmas and New Year’s break, whatever plans you were able to make! The Student Opportunities team is now back in the office and working through any emails or tickets that you sent in over Christmas so please bear with us as we work through anything you have sent us.
Tier 4 Update
Obviously, since our pre-Christmas communications, the situation with regards to Covid-19 has changed significantly, with all of Surrey including Royal Holloway now in Tier 4. While the University will be contacting everyone with regards to returning to campus, teaching and academic life, we wanted to remind all groups that while we are in Tier 4 all student group activity must be virtual only. All students should follow the government’s guidelines with regards to permitted activity in Tier 4 areas.
Thank you to every group that has completed their budget template form. Any that were completed before 3 January will have their memberships live on Monday 11 January. If you have not yet completed your budget template, there will be a delay to your membership being available. In order to have your membership available to purchase on the website, please complete the budget template form (available on your Google drive) and send us a ticket on Freshdesk so that we can upload your membership. If you do not let us know about your completed budget sheet, we will not be able to upload your membership.
BUCS/LUSL and Sporting Activity
In Tier 4 areas, organised sport is not permitted, so there will be no training or competitive sports activity until we advise otherwise. We realise that you will have lots of questions about how this will impact your entry to BUCS, LUSL or other competitions and leagues. At the moment, we have no update on this so we will not be able to answer any individual questions about this, but as soon as there is information to communicate or action to be taken, we will reach out directly to any or all clubs who are impacted.
